This momma's heart is hurting.
My son has gone overseas with the Army. He'll be there for about a year.
For the last several years, he's been about 5 hours away. When all the lockdowns began happening with Covid-19, I thought that was rough since I couldn't see him on weekends anymore.
But now I realize that was nothin' compared to how it is now. Or maybe that was my trial run for his Army tour.
Our communications have now dwindled down to texting + emailing with those super rare occasions when we can actually talk - on the phone. However, I'm also taking the stand that "no news is good news."
So I'm now sending positive thoughts + prayers his way; wishing him a safe adventure as I keep busy. Since I was a military brat myself, I know how things work but I'm still overrun with emotions to protect + shelter him (just a little longer).
How do y'all handle distances from your loved ones? I'd love to hear.

Your precious son is in my prayers and so are you. That’s the only thing I know to do. My Mom is 82 and in good health ,my sister lives with her. I can’t go see any of them because of this pandemic. Life is tough! Things are so different. May God watch over and protect your son ❤️ ☮️ 🙏
